This is my family.
After teaching school for 15 years, this is my second year I can call myself a stay-at-home mom!
I loved teaching,
but my own kids started needing me more and more! Do you have any idea how difficult it is to schedule and feed and clothe and get the kids to after-school activities and sports when you're supposed to be in meetings at school? It wasn't working well... actually it wasn't working at all... so, I'm now at home. (I didn't completely stop all teaching... I still teach Sunday School and I volunteer at school every week.) What a blessing being at home has been!
Thankfully my AH (awesome husband --I love calling him that, because it's true!) can provide for our family without me working. We are blessed to have 2 kids. Jessica, age 11 (our blessing from God--who we adopted at birth) and Jacob, age 10 (our surprise, miracle boy who was supposed to be a stillborn). By the grace of God and support of our family and friends, we survived 4 miscarriages, 3 failed adoptions and one high-risk pregnancy to have our children. I could probably write and fill up a completely different blog on living through that pain...but how much fun would that be?
Instead, I started blogging about the things I love...scrapbooking, crafting, kid activities, decorating, shopping adventures, trips, my spiritual insights and of course, my family! Who knew how much fun blogging could be? It feels a bit like scrapbooking...finding joy in documenting life!
On my blog you'll find me crafting with my kids,
and hosting a dinner party for friends.
Sometimes you'll find me sharing things I'm struggling with
or things that are very important to me.

1. I love chocolate. (especially dark chocolate and of course, peanut butter and chocolate.)More about me...if you're still interested...
2. I love to dance. (this really only happens in the privacy of my home with my Michael Jackson Wii game or if you catch me in an aerobic class. I grew up with ballet, jazz and cheer.)
3. I can't have a party without a theme! (this trait was instilled in me by my incredible mother--she's the same way.)
4. My weakness...bags, purses, totes...they just call out to me...all the time.
5. I like to plan out things in advance. (I do not do well with surprises, or waiting until the last minute. I definitely have a Type A personality...I need to know the details!)
6. I love to visit thrift shops and garage sales, especially with my mom.

7. I'm addicted to ribbon. (it's my favorite crafting/scrapbooking/decorating product..I can never have enough!)
8. I'm hearing impaired. (many people don't know this piece of information about me, but I've worn hearing aides my entire life...and I've always tried to wear my hair so no one notices. It's a hereditary loss, my dad and brother have a hearing loss as well.)
10. I'm a born-again Christian. Jesus Christ is my Rock and Salvation. I can't imagine living my life without Him! I need His strength, comfort and forgiveness to get me through every day.Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll stay awhile and join me on this blogging adventure!
